November 2, 1963 - July 3, 2021
Viewing will be held at Omega Funeral Home in Portage la Prairie on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Portage la Prairie on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Father Richard Ehrmantrant officiating.
Barry was born on November 2, 1963, in Portage la Prairie, son of late Samuel and Jean Shepel. Upon receiving his education Barry moved to Winnipeg where he enjoyed life with family, friends and practiced a strong work ethic.
Barry enjoyed the simple things in life, the beauty of nature, daily walks, hockey, reading history and discussing world events. Barry is known as a kind, honest, gentle, and fun-loving person with a great sense of humour, and a true Winnipeg Jets fan. He had an amazing memory for historical dates and events.
Predeceased by his parents he leaves to mourn his passing his sister Marie of Calgary, Alberta and several cousins and great cousins.
Should friends so desire memorable donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, care of Marie Sopko, 6 Rock Lake Heights NW, Calgary, Alberta.
A special message to Barry
from his sister Marie:
All the great times we have had are
solid in my memory. I will love and
cherish you forever my beautiful brother.
You are now at peace with the Lord
and will be deeply missed. You will
live in people's hearts forever.
