(nee McNISH)
May 23, 1945 - July 2, 2021

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Carol passed away at the St. Boniface Palliative unit on July 2, 2021 at the age of 76 with her son by her side.
Carol is survived by her children, Melody (Roger) Cushnie, Tammy Davis and Aaron (Judy) Taylor; her grandchildren, Sean (Jaime) Cushnie, Randi (Jesse) Denton, Michael (Lindsay) Cushnie, Deion Taylor and Damion Taylor, as well as great-grandchildren, Emmett, Miles, Maverick Cushnie and Lennox Denton; her brother Larry (Gisele) McNish; and nieces and nephews, Kevin, Laura, Cara, Chris, Shawn, Candy, Bobby and Debbie.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Marge McNish; sister Terri Cain, and best friend Gertrude Moar.
Carol worked more than 40 years at Canada Safeway most memorably at the Ferry Road and Sturgeon and Ness locations where she made lifelong friends. Carol enjoyed nothing more than getting done up and going dancing and she did so into her 70s when she was diagnosed with cancer. Carol also enjoyed travelling to the Caribbean where she loved the culture and the music. She vacationed in Jamaica many times, Aruba, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico and others.
Her drive-by 76th birthday brightened our Mom's final weeks in so many ways and we thank everyone who came by with well wishes.
Carol's children would like to thank the Moar/Warren family and Maria Parkes for the decades of love and friendship they offered us all. We also would like to thank Ina Laird and Kathie Hewey for all their kindness to our Mom. We would like to thank the Palliative staff that visited her at home for as long as she could stay and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and residents of 75 Sinawik Bay.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions and Carol's wish to not have a formal service there will be a private ceremony at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honour to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
