It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Simone Normand, on July 4, 2021, 79 years of age, at Action Marguerite (Tache Nursing Centre).
Simone was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Rose (nee Lamirande); sisters, Rose-Marie, Jay and Louise; and brother Emile. She is survived by her brother Eugene (Mabel), many nieces, nephews and other family members.
For the past 37 years, she has called Tache 3DE home and the family would like to thank all the staff for the time and compassion they showed her.
Simone enjoyed and loved the 37 years she spent doing activities at ComSpan and the staff cannot be thanked enough.
Simone really enjoyed her afternoon trips to the casino with Eugene and Mabel that they took her on. The buffet was always her favourite. There were always lots of laughs and always a smile on her face.
A private family service will be held and she will interred near her Mom and Dad at Waverley Memorial Gardens.

  • Simone attended Com-Span for many years, she was one of the original participants of the Day Program. Working with Simone you always knew where you stood, she either liked you or she didn’t. When unhappy with you she would make sure too let you know she will be telling her loving brother Eugene. Simone loved playing cards and trying her luck at the “Slot Machine”, but she especially enjoyed having a cookie and a cup of tea. Simone also loved babies. During her early years Com-Span, she would often talk about having a baby, but after explaining to her the full process, she placed her hands to her mouth and giggled. Over the years the topic was discussed less and less, However she continued too show affection and love to all the babies and young children that were introduced to her. Children had a special place in her heart, and she will always have a special place in ours. We will miss you Simone. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Jackie (Com-Span) on: Jul 11, 2021
