CHARLES EUGENE LANDRY
June 12, 1934 - July 10, 2021
Gone, but never forgotten...
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Doraine (nee Blomme) in August of 2020. Surviving are his son Roger and daughter-in-law Kathryn (nee Dopson) of Winnipeg; his daughter Louise Papadopoulos of Kenora; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica (Raven) and Nicolas Papadopoulos of Winnipeg.
Charles was born on June 12, 1934 in St. Norbert, Manitoba, the son of Joseph. N Landry and Marie-Agnes (nee Gauthier). He spent his entire 45-year working career in the grain industry, originally with Continental Grain Company in Winnipeg and Montreal, and then in the sales division of the Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg, taking retirement in 1995. He was a longtime member of the Winnipeg Grain Exchange and Commodity Exchange.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Unit 4DE at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface for their care and compassion over the last four years.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. A private interment of cremated remains has taken place in Green Acres Cemetery.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)
Charlie, my friend of nearly 50 years. Knew Charlie through working at the CWB and kept in touch over the years after he retired. How he loved to talk about the kids and grandchildren and thought the world of his daughter-in-law Kathy. I have very good memories of Charlie and some of his antics that still make me smile. He was a fine man and a good friend. Condolences to his family. - Posted by: Sharon Meikle (friend) on: Jul 19, 2021
Mark-Cuss and I met Charles in 2018 as part of the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog visitation program. Charlie loved to talk about his Corgis that he had raised. He always made me smile and I hope we brought some joy to him. While we have not been able to visit since March 2020 we have been visiting virtually, although not the same, we could still see his smile. We will miss not seeing him when we get to return to in-person visiting. Sympathies to the family. - Posted by: Donamae Hilton and Mark-Cuss (therapy dog) (St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Team) on: Jul 17, 2021
RIP Charlie. Shared many laughs during the CWB years and you were a wonderful friend and co-worker to my dad Tom. You two were a pair of practical jokers. Heaven just gained a new comedy team. My condolences to Roger, Louise and their families. - Posted by: Diana Cowell (Friend) on: Jul 17, 2021
