Well the Calgary Stampede starts this past week which back in our childhood time would signal a couple of annual events. Number One: Dad starts his Holidays from CP Weston shops and the family trip out West. Mom would spend the beginning of this week packing and preparing for the trip. Come Friday by midnight we would be crammed into the backseat of The Car and on the way for a two week adventure. The Second event was Mom and Dad's Wedding Anniversary. They always had a houseful of family and friends to help them celebrate. This July 22 they would have been celebrating their 73rd anniversary. We fondly remember their 25th and 45th Anniversaries and all the fun we had. All of these events and more were opportunities to catch up with all of our Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. We miss our Mom and Dad every day and even though they aren't here physically, we recognize the lasting influences that they had on us. Well it's time to go and make Summer vacation plans. Have a safe and memory-filled Summer. Take time to contact an Aunt, Uncle or Cousin.
The Boys and our families.
