  • Ma chère Cecile, to Stephane and family, Chris and Family, Patrick and family. Totally shocked & still in disbelief, our friendship does not go back a long way but it has the worth of a long cherished one. Whether it was a chance meeting in a store, a wave from a distance in a crowd at the Festival or at the yearly Christmas function, Renel always had a warm welcoming smile and time for a conversation. • We will miss you Renel. The evenings curling together at the Pembina and the rounds of golf that us curling mates had together were so much fun. Your smile, your humour, your positive attitude was such a welcome addition to our curling team. I still remember that downpour we got caught in at the Canoe Club while golfing. I was taking cover under a tree but you bravely stood up on the hill top tee box of the 8th hole and took your turn. The rain was so heavy that it was hard for your son Chris to keep track of your ball. Chris was sure it had landed on the green though. So we all headed out to the green to finished off the hole as we were already soaked. After a fair bit of hunting Chris found your ball in the hole! A rain soaked, blinded by the rain "hole-in-one". We hooted and shouted and celebrated with you the best we could under the circumstances. What a day that was. How difficult this must be for the family, but we know that Renel will live on in his children and grandchildren. His many great characteristics will continue to be a blessing to others through them. Our prayers are with you. - Posted by: Ron Blatz (Curling and Golf Mate) on: Jul 24, 2021

  • Over many years, Cecile and Renel have become our treasured friends. We have enjoyed fishing with them, having dinners together, playing cards, and spending time visiting in Florida and Phoenix. Renel was always willing to lend a hand to a friend or to those in need. He was a kind, humorous, and loving human. We could all learn from his example. We cannot believe he is gone from our lives. We send our condolences to all of his extended family. - Posted by: Jim and Carol Tomes (Friend ) on: Jul 24, 2021
