In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roy Robert Lee Senkiw Fund at the Winnipeg Foundation. Gifts to the fund will be endowed at The Winnipeg Foundation to offer permanent community support for local perinatal bereavement programs or flow directly to organizations in our community that provide these services. Infant loss is a sad and confusing journey. This fund will help support families of other angel babies and will be Roy's lasting legacy. Roy descended from a long line of community leaders on both sides of his family. Community service, volunteerism and philanthropy have been priorities of his family, and this is an opportunity for Roy to participate in philanthropy. Sweet baby Roy will do great things in this world by inspiring his family to help others as they navigate their long journeys to recovery.
Special thanks to Dr. M. Leylek, Dr. L. Lach, Nurse Raman and the many nurses and support workers who took care of Roy, Malinda and Brad at St. Boniface General Hospital. Also, thank you to Kevin Sweryd from Bardal Funeral Home for making final arrangements with Roy's grandparents when his parents were too heartbroken to move forward with this difficult task.
