CODY KENNETH EDNIE-COLLES
September 27, 1992 July 18, 2021
Cody will be greatly missed by his mother Barb Ednie-Giardino and stepfather Tony Giardino, Cody's twin sisters, Katrina and Keanna Colles, stepsisters, Jenna Giardino and Mandy Mogatas (Henry, children: Auriella and Adonis); grandmother Phyllis Ednie and stepgrandmother Linda Stratichuck; loving aunts, Patti Wandowich (Jody Henkel) and Brigette Ednie (Todd Fisher); cousins, Paige Ednie, Taylor, Tawsha and Teila Wandowich; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, many great friends, and his furbabies. Sadly, Cody's father William Colles predeceased Cody. It gives us great comfort knowing Cody is now at peace with his father and is loved here on earth and in heaven.
Cody grew up in North Kildonan. He attended Sunvalley School, River East and Kildonan East Collegiate, where he met and maintained many close friendships. He will be greatly missed by many lifelong friends. After high school, Cody followed his father's footsteps and pursued a career in Iron Work, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Cody was employed with the Ironworkers Union Local 728 where he had the opportunity to travel across Canada. Cody then joined CN Rail/ Bridges and Structures. Although Cody was away from home working a lot, he absolutely loved his job at CN. Cody always spoke so highly about the crew he worked with at CN, and how he felt so appreciated as an employee. Thank you to all who worked with Cody and made him feel so valued.
Although only 28 at the time of his passing, Cody touched many people in his lifetime. Those who knew Cody, even just a little, knew he was the life of the party. Cody was like a candle; he would light up any room he entered with his charismatic personality, contagious laugh, and his big beautiful smile.
Cody not only loved working outdoors, during his time off he looked forward to spending time with his sisters, going camping, fishing and hanging out at the dock at St. Malo.
Unfortunately, the Lord came calling too soon, as Cody had many dreams and goals that time didn't allow to finish. You will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. We love and miss you so very much my son.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)
To my beautiful soul, I love you deeply, I will never forget that amazing smile, your laughter, our jokes together, all the funny times we had in life at this short period. You will be deeply missed by everyone, family, friends, and of course, me. I remember when we use to dance in the middle of the kitchen and our cuddle times, my heart wasn't ready for you to leave. I will cherish the memories for the rest of my life. I know you are watching over us, I'm very thankful and blessed, I would like to give my condolences to his mom and sisters, I'm always thinking about you guys constantly. I will have a beer or two in your memory, not like I haven't yet, I love you so much, rest easy you beautiful soul💜 until we meet again💕💜 - Posted by: Kaleigh (The love of my life) on: Aug 27, 2021
Rest Easy, Sweet Cody, Compton, Codes, Coco, and various names you were known by... It brings me great pleasure to know that you are no longer suffering from the "demons under your bed", and are set free. But it does hurt to know I will never feel your embrace or see your smile again. I know there were so many things you still had to accomplish in this world, and you were indeed taken far too soon. 28 years for anyone just isn’t enough time but I know you lived well during those years, and truly lived under your own circumstances. And yet there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you, for you colored my life in such a beautiful way, and truly were the light into each room you ever stepped into. Farewell, and until we meet again <3 - Posted by: amrit grewal (Friend) on: Aug 16, 2021
I've never heard truer words, Cody lit up every room he ever walked into with his beautiful smile, contagious laughter and just his overall positive vibes, he radiated love, laughter and life everywhere he went. While it is so so sad and heart-wrenching to think that he is no longer with us, I can't help but think about so many great memories with Cody and laugh to myself, and I know that's what he would want, Cody was always the life of the party and he would want us to remember that about him. I'm so unbelievably sorry to Cody's mother and sisters, he loved you guys so much which was so evident in the way he talked about you all as well as his constant social media posts with and about you all. You will be so missed Cody, I hope you're up there hangin with your dad and shotgunning a beer, we'll keep the party goin down here for ya until we meet again💕 - Posted by: Megan (Long time friend) on: Jul 28, 2021
