Douglas is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Orr nee Harness, and father, Kenneth Orr, as well as brothers George Orr (Joyce) and James Orr (Debbie). Douglas was born and raised in Souris, Manitoba and moved to Brandon with his young family in the early 1980's. Doug was a painter in construction by trade, but he loved learning and educated himself thoroughly on the wide variety of things that interested him, learning many skills throughout his life. He pursued his love of guitar throughout his life, inspired by his hero and mentor Chet Atkins. Doug's deep voice and stage presence made him a legend in his own right. He was a picker and a grinner and signed his name with the designation "CGP". He was a kind and compassionate man with desire to help people in need. One of his life passions was his work with Helping Hands in Brandon. In lieu of flowers it is suggested that those who desire make a donation to the Helping Hands Centre in Doug's memory. Douglas' family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew him, will be available there. In accordance with their wishes, cremation and interment has taken place and a graveside service will be held July 9, 2021.

Dougs kindness, knowledge, and humour will not be forgotten. I feel honoured to have been able to have gotten to know Doug. I will miss that friendly voice through the fence, followed by a nice chat. You will be very much missed. 💕 - Posted by: Amanda (Neighbor ) on: Aug 01, 2021
