CHARLES BARTON (BART) LAMB
February 22, 1954 – July 22, 2021

Most unexpectedly, Bart passed away in the early morning of Thursday, July 22, 2021. His family, relatives and friends are devastated by his untimely passing.
Bart is survived by his mother Carolyn Lamb and sister Cynthia Lamb. He was predeceased by his father Charles Lamb and sister Janis Lamb.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Bart grew up on Calrossie Boulevard in Fort Garry where he attended Viscount Alexander. His second home was on Fordham Bay in Fort Richmond where he attended Fort Richmond College.
Bart attended the University of Manitoba, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts. He returned to the U of M to specialize in Political Science.
Over the years Bart was very active and participated and excelled in badminton, tennis, and cycling. He was naturally athletic and had a quick wit.
He worked for a variety of companies and his last employment was with Performance Landscaping, where he enjoyed the work, the clients he met, and especially spending most of his time outdoors.
He was passionate about animals and loved his Siamese cat Shady. Bart loved all four-legged creatures. He cherished his friends, family and relatives, and will leave a big void in all our hearts.

Be in peace where you are
comforted with all the things you loved:
books, music, telling stories and animals.

Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • So sad to hear of Bart’s passing. I first met him as a badminton player at tournaments and, though a few years older, he was always very friendly and kind with the result that he knew and was popular with players of all ages- and he had a cutting sense of humor. I reconnected with Bart at the University, when he welcomed me into the DKE house, and we shared a number of political science classes over the years. Bart was simply a great friend, witty and entertaining, and he was a true gentleman. He will be fondly remembered. FFTHF. • Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same. Bart was one of those people, his wit and love of banter he could rant with the best of them and improve our vocabulary at the same time. His love of music and movies gave him an abundance of trivia that he eagerly shared……and shared……and shared. But what touched his heart and bound him to others was an immense empathy and love for all things four legged. His beloved cat Bea Shady was his joy. He found solace in lake life and it rejuvenated his spirit. We are so blessed to have an indelible footprint on our hearts that is now and forever our friend Bart. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family. Love Roy and Bonnie - Posted by: Bonnie and Roy (Friends) on: Aug 07, 2021

  • I met Bart at the U of M when I joined Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Bart was an active member and was always, always great to have around. He was a voice of reason, stoical, and someone you always would want on your team. I'm saddened by his loss even though I've not seen him since the 1990s. We say in our fraternity, "Friends From The Heart Forever". I feel that today for Bart as much as I did on our first meeting in 1981. We need more guys like Bart in this world. In his way he made a difference and I will always cherish his memory and friendship. - Posted by: Dick (DKE Fraternity brother) on: Aug 03, 2021

  • I think I first met Bart when he was a baby. One of my first babysitting jobs was looking after all 3 children. I was pretty young but my mom Jean C was on next street as back-up. Bud and Carol were going to be home about 1 A.M. Said I’d stay up til then. Woke up to Carol tickling my nose with a feather. I was so embarrassed to have fallen asleep but Carol thought it was funny. After they moved off street usually saw Carol at Mom’s Christmas brunches or FGUC (church) happenings. Knew Janice a bit better especially since she also attended some of VMC’s reunions. Last time sitting with her at the pre reunion, rock and roll dance. Bart will be sorely missed by his fiends and family. Doug and I offer sincere condolences to you, Carol and Cindy. - Posted by: Marilyn and Doug (Friends of Carol) on: Jul 31, 2021
