October 22, 1956 – July 20, 2021

It is great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cathy on July 20, 2021 at the age of 64 years. Mom was joined by her beloved sister Maggie only days after her passing.
She is predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Mary-Ellen Younger. She is survived by her loving husband Alex; her six children, Tonya (Alex), Theresa (Kalvin), Jeff (Karren), Paul (Tisha), Melissa (Shawn), and Joseph (Michelle) and her beloved 14 grandchildren.
She is also survived by brothers, Mike and Bill (Pat) along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Cathy worked in health care for many years then went on to own "Beach Treats" at Winnipeg Beach where people would line up around the corner just to have her delicious homemade french fries. You could find Cathy spending her free time with her family or having a coffee or two with her longtime childhood friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Riverview Health Centre for all their compassion and care.
To share and leave a lasting legacy of our beautiful wife, mother and grandmother Cathy, a bench will be dedicated in her memory within a city park in North Kildonan. The family invites you to be a part of this gift and therefore in lieu of flowers, monetary contributions will be accepted by e-transfer to
Cathy had great empathy for the most vulnerable, so accordingly any funds collected above will be shared amongst community services she knew made a difference in this world.

  • I remember Catherine from St. Clements school days many years ago. She was a good friend from that time. It's a shame the family moved away from Dunrobin Ave. as we lost touch after that. - Posted by: phil mowatt (former classmate) on: Jul 31, 2021
