MONIQUE MARIE BERTHE RENAUD
(nee CHOUINARD)
May 7, 1953 - July 29, 2021

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Monique - a wife, mother and grandmother. Monique passed away, with her family at her side, at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on July 29.
Monique was born on May 7, 1953 in St-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba where she graduated with honours from Institut Collégial St. Pierre. She met the love of her life Richard in 1970 and two years later they were married. Richard and Monique raised two children, Michael and Christine, in Morris, Manitoba where they lived until 2008. Throughout her working life, Monique worked in a variety of healthcare roles at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris and at the Morris and Emerson hospitals.
She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Cecile Chouinard and her sister Pauline Chouinard. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of almost 50 years, her two children, Michael and Christine (Ted) and her beloved grandchildren, Alex and Rebecca. She is also survived by her sisters, Rachelle Wiebe and Edith (Real) Gagnon, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Everyone who knew Monique knew her heart - she always had an ear to listen and knew exactly the right thing to say. She was the rock and matriarch of our family and she will be missed deeply by many.
The family would like to thank the Acute Cardiac Care Unit nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for taking such great care of Monique in her final days.
For all who provided messages of condolences and support to the family, we gratefully thank you.
An outdoor graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Cemetery. Casual attire encouraged and be prepared for the weather. Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Richard, Christine and Michael, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Monique was like second Mom growing up, I spent so much time at their house with the family. Sometimes more than my own. I will cherish the wonderful memories. May she rest in peace! • Wes and I were so shocked by the tragic news of Monique passing. We had such great times at the Morris Stampede for years and Richard and Monique’s house was always welcoming to us. Due to illness I am not able to attend her services but my heart is with your whole family. We are very sorry for your loss and she will be missed dearly. • Richard and Family, Our Deepest Condolences on the loss of Monique. We didn’t see each other much, but when we did, we had some great chats. She was a great lady. With Sympathy, Reg and Anna - Posted by: Anna and Reg Faulkes (Cousins ) on: Aug 06, 2021

  • Dear Richard and family I knew Deb Wiebe. I am sorry for your loss and my deepest condolences go out to each one of you at this most difficult sad time. May she Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Kathy Taylor (Friends) on: Aug 04, 2021

  • My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you, her family - to you Richard, Mike, Christine, Ted and the two precious grandchildren of whom she was so proud. Monique and I worked together in the Emerson Clinic. Working with her was a pleasure; we enjoyed laughter and sometimes more stressful situations as life gives us hard times as well as good. Even after we both retired we kept in touch though admittedly (and now regretfully) not as much as we did at first. I know you will all miss her deeply as will all her friends. Be assured that she will live on in all our hearts. Again my condolences. - Posted by: Carol Wilkinson (Friend) on: Aug 04, 2021

  • Richard and family, So very sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Gary and Carol Manchulenko (FRIENDS) on: Aug 04, 2021
