VIOLA ROSE LESYSHEN
(nee BUEHLER)
June 13, 1937 - July 18, 2021
Viola was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Fred, and her sister Alice. She will be lovingly remembered by son Michael, daughter Shelly, daughter-in-law Dina, and two grandchildren, Layne and Brooke. She will also be missed by her sister Alma, and brother-in-law Royce as well as all the extended Buehler and Lesyshen families.
Mom's life always revolved around family. Although her two sisters were 5 and 10 years older, the similarities between them were uncanny. The three Buehler girls, as the family affectionately referred to them, lived by three basic rules; 1 - Family always comes first, 2 - Prepare plenty of incredible food, 3 - Treat everyone like family. She was very close to her sisters and their families throughout her life, and always looked forward to the Buehler family reunions.
Mom was the kindest, most thoughtful woman you could meet. From never forgetting an extended family birthday with a card (and always a bit of cash for the kids) to hosting friends for card games into the wee hours and special occasions like her famous "Boxing Day" open house. Mom loved baking rum cakes, pies, cookies, and an abundance of "dainties" which she also turned into a bit of a business. Mom was active in the United Church, where she and Dad participated in the choir, as well as their "Singing Nun" troupe, and made many lifelong friends through church activities. She eventually moved into an assisted living apartment, and very much enjoyed being part of that community, where she met many new friends.
After a lifetime of serving others, she finally was able to have someone cook for her. She often commented, "it was like being on holiday!" She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren, and had the biggest smile when they were near. She very much looked forward to family holiday get-togethers, especially Christmas. We will miss her very much.
In accordance with Mom's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Viola's name to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation.

Shelly, Mike and family: My family offers you our heartfelt condolences. Auntie Vi was so caring and loving to family and friends. I will always remember how she appreciated every card and every call. She cherished her family and her sisters and their families. I will always remember her infectious laughter, her kind heart and her always calling me Dearie. Auntie Vi, you will be missed. I hope you and mom are together again telling stories and giggling up there. Love you all, Paulette, Gerry & family - Posted by: Paulette (Niece) on: Aug 05, 2021

Shelly, Michael and family My love to you in the loss of your beautiful mom. There are so many memories; Vi always with a smile on her face and a ready laugh. When I stopped square dancing and was selling my dresses, Vi bought a purple, full-skirted outfit . She looked beautiful in it.
