January 10, 1930 - August 1, 2021

It is with great sadness and gentle relief that we say goodbye to our mom who passed away at Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg, MB, on August 1, 2021, at the age of 91.
Adele (as she preferred to be known) was predeceased by her husband Don, daughter Carole, grandson Sean, her sister Verna and her parents, Armour and Freda Hammond from Indian Head, SK.
She leaves behind daughters, Donna (Paul), Brenda (Peter), Shannon (Herb), Darlene, Melanie (Brendan), and Heather (Chris); twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two brothers, six sisters and their extended families.
Adele was born January 10, 1930 in Regina, SK. She graduated from Indian Head High School and Moose Jaw Normal School (Teachers College) and taught at schools in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
She married Don Macdonald of Indian Head, SK and became an army wife making many lifelong friends, wherever the family moved.
Mom loved to travel and had several trips to Europe, Florida and Hawaii, and fulfilled a bucket list wish of visiting an island in the Caribbean with her immediate family. She visited the east and west coasts of Canada and the United States and enjoyed many points in between.
Until Mom lost her sight she was an avid reader, enjoyed games, puzzles, many crafts, gardening and, at the age of 75, became quite an avid computer user. She was also a very faithful fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The family would like to thank Diane Gudmundson, former nurse practitioner, for her exceptional care of Mom's health during her later years. In addition, all the staff at Riverview Health Centre and especially to those on Ward C4.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mom's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to the charity of your choice.
In accordance with Adele's wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will rest beside her beloved husband at Thomson "In the Park" Winnipeg, MB.

Where a beautiful soul has travelled, beautiful memories remain forever.
