MARJORIE JEAN WILLIS
(nee PILKINGTON)
November 29, 1926 - July 31, 2021

She peacefully passed away at the Simkin Centre, in Winnipeg, with family by her side.
Marge is survived by her loving family, Gary and Darlene (Sopko), Tony and Danny (Chapman); grandchildren, Dustin (Marie) and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kaden, Lacey, Dustin Jr. and Issac; nieces, Cathy Clark and Diane Slevin and her extended family the Benjaminsons of Winnipeg and the Chapmans of Ottawa.
Predeceased by her devoted husband Lt. Col. Bill Willis, sister Kathleen Wickham (the late Don) her parents, Bill and May Pilkington of London and her best friend Frances Sopko.
Her family wish to thank and praise her longtime personal companion, Maria Pagdato (Nick) and Nick Jr. Without their love and care for their "adopted" mother, she would not have been with us so long. Maria is a saint.
Mum was beautiful inside and out, armed with an unforgettable sense of humour, generous to a fault, and guilty of loving us all too much. She will be forever missed.
At her request there is no funeral. Private interment, Field of Honour, Brookside Cemetery, at a later date.

  • I worked with Marge in the late 70s early 80s. I had just gotten married and she was like a Mom at work. Thought many times since how Marge was doing. Glad to see she had a long life. Hopefully with many good days. Condolences to her family! - Posted by: Marianne Toews (Coworkers at CIBC) on: Aug 08, 2021

  • I am very saddened to read of Marge's passing. She was so lovely. The passing of our mothers is an unbearable event in our lives. You were so fortunate to have Marge for so many years. I empathize with your loss. May your fond memories help to comfort your wonderful family in this time of grief and healing. - Posted by: Lana Thiessen-Storey (friend of Gary and Darlene) on: Aug 07, 2021
