Condolences & Memories (7 entries)
Gordon was indeed, the one, the only. He was a significant part of my childhood. I had a carved wooden doll which he had made for me while he was hospitalized as a youngster. Gordon was twelve years younger than my mother Bea. I guess he was just eight when I was born, but we always knew that his well being was important to her. Gordon and Joanne were generous with their time and concern for both mom and dad during their last years at Fred Douglas. Gordon was funny. He was a great story teller. He was an enormously kind man and, that kind light shone out of him like a bright beam of hope coming through that steel will. He was a man to love and care about even when you just had to say,"oh, Gordon, I don't know what you mean" Take good care, all of you. Dear Joanne & Family, We are so saddened to hear of Gord’s passing. I know God will sustain you in these sad days, and may he bring you into brighter ones again. I have so many great memories of time spent with Gord. He and Joanne always welcomed you into their home for a cup of coffee and one of Gord's colourful jokes, or limericks. That man knew how to tell a joke! I had the good fortune of spending time at the Hunter's Florida home. He would drive us wherever we wanted to go, Frank Sinatra blarring, fearlessly navigating the Florida highways with a few curse words for the other drivers. Hunter family, I grieve with you and like all of you, will never forget dear Gord! - Posted by: DEB KROPLA (friend) on: Aug 07, 2021
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Gord’s passing. He was always full of fun and humour. I remember popping in to visit when we all lived on Oakland. I remember watching the Bomber game there with him. Rest easy Gord your family knows how much you loved them, and how much you were and always be loved … rest easy in the arms of Jesus.
