MARIE ALEXANDER
January 12, 1928 December 20, 2020
She was predeceased by her husband Bill, and daughter Barb. She leaves to mourn Brian (Yvonne), Ian, Jim (Sally), Bruce and Annette (Grant), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mom had an amazing work career as a waitress at Patricia Café, A&W, volunteering at Grace Hospital, as well as a cashier at Tom Boy, Dominion, Safeway and Sobeys, finally retiring at age 83. It was her love of people that motivated her to continue working.
Mom was a strong person having beat Cancer, having a stroke which lead to blindness and deafness, she was always cheerful waiting for her daily calls from her family. Especially the call at 3:00 p.m. every day from "her boy" Stevie.
Mom was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she had a huge heart full of kindness and generosity and was always willing to put others first before her own needs.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fletcher for looking after Mom as well as the family with his guidance through this difficult time.
Celebration of Life is to be held August 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3K 1W3.

I miss Marie terribly. I miss our telephone calls and the time spent just visiting with her. I have had many visits from her in my dreams since her passing. She is always smiling and looks beautiful as always. She was the best mother-in-law in the world. I am sorry that I can not make it to Winnipeg for her celebration of life. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Gaylene Alexander (daughter-in-law) on: Aug 26, 2021
