EILEEN LOUISE GIESBRECHT
(nee MILLER)
August 15, 1940 - August 1, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Eileen Giesbrecht lost her battle with cancer in the early morning of August 1, 2021. Eileen faced all the challenges of her treatments with her quiet strength and determination, those traits reflected how she lived her life.
Eileen will be deeply missed by her children, Larry (Agnes), Darrell (Gillian) and Gail (Jim); her grandchildren, Ryan, Caitlin, Samantha, Jocelyn, Larissa (Scott), Colby, Paige (Landon), Tanner (Tesa), Genevieve (Patrick), Everett; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Reed; sister Loretta (Tom); nieces, Theresa (Kevin) and Kathy (Justin); and many other nieces, nephews, family, friends, and extended family.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Peter, her parents, Earl and Theresa Miller, and her brother Earl Miller.
Eileen enjoyed her time with family and friends; she enjoyed travel and being at the ballpark cheering on her Winnipeg Goldeyes. Eileen was an incredible mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Eileen always put her family first, providing help and support to everyone that needed it. She was always quick to ensure you felt welcome when you came to visit whether that was putting on a pot of coffee, offering a meal or just taking the time to talk; she truly loved everyone.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Paul, CancerCare Manitoba and the nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital's Palliative Care Unit.
A private celebration of Eileen's life will take place at Glen Lawn Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends wishing to attend virtually may do so at:
