DOREEN EDITH MORROW
She will be forever remembered by her loving husband Ian; sons, David (Lena) and Douglas (Teresa); grandchildren, Geoffrey (Dayna), Hannah (Florent), Dylan (Maddy), Stewart and Paige; great-grandson Louie; her sister Joan (Gordon) and many nieces and nephews.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Edith West, and by her cherished son Geoffrey.
Doreen grew up in St. James, where she came to know and eventually marry the young man from across the street. Ian's medical career took them to many communities across western Canada, where they made new friendships, many with which they still regularly correspond.
They finally settled back in Winnipeg. Doreen's old friendships were re-established, and new ones created all while being totally dedicated to the health and wellbeing of "her boys". She was never too busy to help a friend or volunteer at the community centre. Playing bridge with the girls was a regular occurrence.
Doreen had a lifelong passion for knitting and was rarely without needles and yarn. Fortunate family and friends will always have her exquisite creations to cherish.
Later life brought many health challenges, but the determination and grace with which she faced them is what truly defined her. We will always remember her caring nature and wonderful sense of humour. We would like to thank her many friends who were always at the door for a visit, or on the phone for a chat.
A gathering in her honour will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we would like to suggest that donations be made to the Winnipeg Foundation - Geoffrey C. Morrow Memorial Fund, to benefit disadvantaged children.

I was a flight instructor with my good friend Geoffrey. I will always be so very grateful to Doreen for sending me one of his paintings as a reminder of the special relationship we had. I miss him daily. I know they are together in heaven and are cherished every day. Life does not end, it just changes.
