ANN JOY HODGES

Ann Joy was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 8, 1938 the only child of Violet and Alfred Mykle. After a long battle with Alzheimer's, she died at Woodwinds Hospital on August 7, 2021.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard; her two children, Mark and his wife Dr. Sushmita Hodges, and Dr. Christina Hodges and her husband Dr. Constantine Mantz. Ann Joy's grandchildren include Samantha (Cameran) Bailey, Serena Hodges, Alexander Mantz, Nicholas Mantz and Andreas Mantz. She is also survived by her 104 year old Godmother, Christina Taylor of Winnipeg whom she called Nanna.
Ann Joy graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead with majors in French and Sociology, followed by a master's degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Until her retirement, she worked at Cretin and Hill-Murray High Schools as well as the Farm Credit Bank.
A service of remembrance and thanksgiving will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 2410 Stillwater Road E., Maplewood, MN at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 12. Due to the resurging Covid virus, there will be no visitation or reception. Those attending the service are asked to wear masks. A family interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's research or to the donor's choice.
