Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • My condolences to the wife, family and friends of Darius. I remember him well from the high school debates as an opposing coach. He was a brilliant and charming young man. I am saddened by such a loss and can’t imagine how hard this must be for all of you. Take care. • I met Darius a few years back at the Hindu Temple on Ste. Anne’s. We both were drawn to each other due to our curiosity and interest in both Hinduism and spiritually. I was so impressed that a person of his age could be so aware and engaged in his quest. I realized through our conversations that as a young girl I had known his mother as our parents were both immigrants from Trinidad. I was so happy to have connected with Darius. Over the years, as we would see each other, Darius proved my initial impression that he was in fact a very old soul in a young body. I knew he was bound for great things and that he would in fact make a difference. To learn that Darius is no longer in this physical world with us is beyond shocking. It’s hard to believe that his time here has come to an end. I can only imagine the pain and shock that this reality has brought to his family. Please accept my heartfelt condolence along with my families. I am very thankful for the interactions I had with Darius through the years but wish I had even more opportunities as he’s was indeed a very special soul. - Posted by: Anita Maharaj (Friend) on: Aug 13, 2021

  • I am devastated to learn of Darius Brahma’s sudden death. I knew him when he volunteered to help for Diwali Mela of the Hindu Society. He made a wonderful MC and he willingly & cheerfully helped other MCs too. His cheerful demeanour & very helpful attitude set a standard for others to follow. We all will miss him acutely when we start planning for Diwali Mela. My heartfelt condolences to his family. - Ganga Dakshinamurti - Posted by: Ganga Dakshinamurti (Hindu Society colleague ) on: Aug 13, 2021

  • Darius was an extraordinary person. Full of life and passionate purpose, he had already begun to use his God given talents to make our world a better place. He had a quick wit, a captivating personality and an excellent work ethic. He was an outstandingly articulate presenter and debater, the kind of person who had the capacity to make every one feel special. In his young life, he was well on his way to being a model citizen. He will be truly and deeply missed. My deepest condolences go out to his family in this difficult time. - Posted by: Shaun McCaffrey (Former teacher/coach) on: Aug 13, 2021
