STONEHOUSE: Frederick Charles. November 5, 1937 – January 23, 2021. Frederick Charles Stonehouse was born on November 5, 1937 at the farm in the Rural Municipality of Albert. He was the third child of Fred and Mary Stonehouse. He began his education in a one-room schoolhouse (Kinloss) finishing his years at Reston "High School". At this time, he was a member of the 4-H Beef Club, a player on a rural baseball team (tournaments) and a curler (bonspiels). In 1961 he married Hazel Adams and gradually took over the farm. They raised two children, Perry and Tannis. During this time, he was a leader of cubs, coached hockey, was a Sunday School Superintendent, and a trustee and chairman for the Fort La Bosse School Division. He was proud of his cattle-showing the Blonde d'Aquitaine breed at the Brandon Winter Fair and at Regina Agribition. After decades of farming (cattle and grain), and due to health issues, Fred and Hazel retired in Minnedosa. Fred bowled and played crib weekly at the Legion for many enjoyable years. Many summers were also spent restoring a 1951 Mercury half-ton truck. Fred is survived by his loving wife Hazel of 59 years; children Perry (Denise), Tannis (Dan); and grandchildren Rachelle, Noah (Shehana), Brittany, Benjamin, and Bryan; his sister Mary Lynn, and brother-in-law Allan Polwarth; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Lauree Polwarth, and Eleanor; brothers-in-law Glen Henderson and Ken Bird; and a nephew Ian Polwarth. The funeral service was held in the funeral chapel (Reston) with Rev. Chad McCharles of Neepawa officiating. The Pallbearers were Brittany Stonehouse, Bryan Stonehouse, Perry Stonehouse, Brad Henderson, Barry Henderson and Cody Gallant. Burial was in Reston Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Fred may be made to the Westman Dreams for Kids, 404-18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 7P3. White's Funeral Home was in care of arrangements.
