BASS: Michael Nicholas. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Bass on August 6, 2021. Mike was born on July 12, 1956 in Brandon, Manitoba. He was the third child of Nick and Fay Bass. Michael attended St. Michael's Academy, King George, Earl Haig and Brandon Collegiate Institute. As a child he was always happy to spend time with his many cousins at family get togethers, especially his cousin Brent Munroe. Michael reveled in his self-declared role as "Black Sheep of the Family" although he was always the first one to be there to help anyone in need. He had a gregarious personality and was quick to make friends. These personality traits and his keen mind served him very well in his career in the insurance business. He worked for a few years at the family business, B/B Agencies with his father. After high school Michael attended Brandon University before moving to Toronto. It was while working in Toronto that Michael graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Commerce and became the youngest ever vice-president and partner at Morris and Mackenzie Insurance Brokerage, at that time the largest independent insurance company in Canada. Michael eventually moved to Florida and entered the insurance industry there. Life changes and Michael moved back to Ontario in 2016. He continued in the insurance business doing consulting and contract work for insurance companies in Costa Rica, Panama, and Florida. Michael was predeceased by his parents Nick and Fay Bass. He is survived by his son Adam of Orlando, Florida, brothers George (Wendy), Earl, sister Margaret (Jim) Murray, youngest brother David and many nieces and nephews.

Rest in Peace Michael,
We love you.
