JOYCE LEONA SEMENCHUK
(nee COPP)
October 27, 1935 - August 3, 2021
Joyce will be fondly remembered by her children, Ron (Michele), Wendy (Bill) Teerhuis, and Kevin (Chris); her grandchildren, Kyle Semenchuk, Jason (Erica) Teerhuis, Kristopher (Kim) Teerhuis, and Nicole (Justin) Powlowski; and her great-grandchildren, Evan, Presley (Teerhuis), Jaxon, Brady (Powlowski), Austin, and Mason (Teerhuis). Joyce will also be fondly remembered by her longtime partner Albert Stangl and family.
Joyce was predeceased in 2000 by her loving husband Jim of 45 years; her parents, Michael and Sophie Cap; and her siblings: sisters, Ginny Josefchuk, Bernice Magas, Laura Semuck, Violet Semenchuk, and Lillian Polischuk, and brothers, Stanley Copp, and Walter Copp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in North Kildonan, Joyce and Jim married in 1955, settling in St. Andrews, Manitoba where they raised their family. In addition to being a homemaker, Joyce also worked for many years as a legal secretary in Selkirk, Manitoba. Mom enjoyed travelling, family gatherings, cooking, and baking cookies for her loved ones... her holupchi will be missed!
In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at both St. Boniface Hospital, as well Deer Lodge Centre for their outstanding care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba in Joyce's memory.

Joyce was the last of my surviving aunts. She was a wonderful, strong and independent woman (like so many of the Copp sisters), whose regular visits Donna and I already miss. We are so sad to see her go. - Posted by: Donna and Michael Josefchuk (nephew) on: Sep 30, 2021

Perry and I wish to express our deepest condolences. Joyce was a very precious and lovely lady. Without her golf expertise, Albert, Perry and I would never have stood a chance at the Hansch golf tournaments! She will be deeply missed. My sincere condolence to the family. Joyce was a wonderful neighbour, which became one of my closest friends. She was the most caring, loving and a great listener a friend could ask for and will be dearly missed. I missed her already. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Ivon Lemay (Friend) on: Aug 16, 2021
