KUNKA: James William "Jimmy". It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our dear brother, uncle and friend Jimmy Kunka, who passed away at the Souris Hospital on August 15, 2021. Jimmy is survived by his siblings Lil Slifka, Mary Moore, Elsie Kurtenbach, Mike Kunka and Jean Carlson. He was predeceased by his parents John and Nellie Kunka, brother Tony Kunka, sister Florence Pomeroy, brothers-in-law Cliff Pomeroy and George Slifka, and sisters-in-law Amy Kunka and June Kunka. Jimmy is also survived by nineteen nephews and nieces who were proud to call him Uncle. Uncle Jimmy had many adventures with his nephews and nieces, including traveling, ice-fishing, curling and baseball. Jimmy is also survived by his beloved 1995 TransAm. Jimmy was born August 21, 1946 on the family farm near Souris. He farmed for many years with his father and eventually took over. Jimmy had a love for animals, ranging from his horses, dogs and barn cats. We will always cherish our memories of our Uncle and Brother Jimmy. His laugh, jokes and great conversations will be greatly missed. Special thanks to nephew Randy as well as the Home Care staff who enabled him to stay in his home as long as possible.
