ADELE (DUVENAUD) LAFERRIERE
Mom was born November 27, 1918 and passed March 15, 2021. She saw it all - two World Wars, the Great Depression, the Dirty Thirties, and two pandemics. Adele saw the implementation of electricity and evolution of electrical appliances, the first man on the moon, jet planes, telephones, black and white and colour television, 18 Prime Ministers, microwaves, computers, and visited face-to-face with four generations on cell phones.
Family was her priority, starting with her only brother, Uncle Louis. Adele and Fernand Laferriere (1913 to 1992) married in 1940. Together in Sperling and in rural Minnedosa they raised Louis, Claude, Joyce and Mavis. They were delighted with the arrival of grandchildren - Tanis and Mark, Pam and Wanda, Sherri and Trina, Eric and Lisa. Adele went on to enjoy nine great-grandchildren. She held her first great-great-grandson at her 100th birthday party, and watched videos and pictures of great-great-granddaughter Adele Philips in 2021.
During her years she worked hard gardening, farming, feeding threshing gangs, with 4-H, community activities and her favourite pastime cards and crossword puzzles.
The family wishes to thank the many friends and extended family who remembered Adele through her many years of life and those who visited her at Fairview. Many thanks to all the staff who cared, cleaned and cooked for her in her later years.

What a wonderful tribute for a wonderful aunt. Such a Canadian life, contributing graciously to all who knew her. With admiration and respect. Chip and Lorraine - Posted by: Lorraine Duvenaud Hand (Niece ) on: Sep 12, 2021
