March 9, 1929 – August 13, 2021

On August 13, 2021, Heaven received another angel as Kay passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 92.
She will be dearly missed by sons, Gary and Randy (Kimbirli), grandchildren, Dale (Karina), Kristina (Kole and great-grandson Robert), Taylor (Justin) and Kira. Remaining to cherish Kay's memory are siblings, Peter, Bill, John, Olga and Iris, many brothers / sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay was born to Mary and Alex Tanchak on a farm near Rosa, Manitoba. She grew up in a large and happy family. After her education, she moved to Winnipeg where she met Walter (Gregotsky) Gregory, a man of like experiences and interests and the love of her life. Kay and Walter loved dancing and travelled to dances around Manitoba. They married and raised their two boys in the city's west end. Favourite pastimes include spending time with family, fishing, curling, camping and travelling. Many wonderful memories at Gimli and their cottage at Winnipeg Beach were enjoyed by family and friends.
When her sons were in school, Kay returned to work mainly in the food services industry. She worked for quite a few of her brothers and sisters in their restaurants and catering services. Later she worked with the breakfast program at Wellington School where she helped raise a generation of children. Kay was very involved in her community and never hesitated to volunteer or help out as needed.
Retirement included travelling to Arizona and Florida before settling as Winter Texans in the Magic Valley Resort in Weslaco, Texas. They spent many happy years travelling in their Volkswagon camper.
When Kay and Walter couldn't travel south anymore, they began to enjoy a very social active life in the Sarnia Towers on Henderson Highway. After Walter's passing, Kay stayed active in the block activities and remained in daily contact with family by phone when she could not see them in person.
The family would like to thank her friends, neighbours and loved ones for their care and support especially during these last few months.
At Kay's request, she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Walter, in a private ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba in the name of Walter and Kay Gregory or to a charity of your choice.
