Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Just recently noticed Martha's earlier published obituary. Have not been in contact for many years but she visited us in Ottawa in 1967 and headed to Montreal then to see Expo 67. My family was in very close contact with Martha and her parents and siblings when I grew up in Manitoba not far from where Martha lived in Emerson, Manitoba. - Posted by: Bert Treichel (Cousin) on: Dec 09, 2021

  • My dear cousin, so many precious memories: The time our families picked Saskatoon berries together, and was so proud to share my name with you. See you in Heaven. Martha (Treichel) Roxborough - Posted by: Martha Roxborough(Treichel) ( A dear Cousin) on: Dec 03, 2021

  • I was so sorry to read in the Winnipeg Obits about Martha's passing. I met Martha when I moved from BC to Winnipeg in 2003. Through playing bridge we became good friends and kept in touch after I left Manitoba in 2016. I will remember her as being a great bridge player and a beautiful friend. I will miss our phone calls. Condolences to all her family who unfortunately I didn't get to meet. With loving memories, Sylvia - Posted by: Sylvia Lindaas (friend) on: Nov 03, 2021

  • I met Martha 20 years ago on the Boni Vital Seniors Council. I was always inspired by her independence, her intelligence and her poise. She was a great lady and a great example for younger women. It was a pleasure knowing her. Rest In Peace - Posted by: Lucile Griffiths (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2021

  • I have known Martha for many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, as am I. She started a Senior's program at the Church to help caregivers of elderly family members have some time for themselves, while their loved one participated at the High Steppers Seniors Club. I volunteered there for many years, and then in 2012 the Club was moved over to Winakwa Community Centre, where I volunteered as well. She also started the Prince of Peace Senior Social Volunteers, as a support system for the High Steppers Club. I am also a member of this organization. She was a very passionate women and worked very hard to have her vision come to fruition. She also started an Agency Fund at The Winnipeg Foundation to help support the Club. Over the years the Club that she started helped hundreds of people, both caregivers, and elderly members. We will always remember Martha as our mentor and friend. Rest in Peace. Regards from the Board of the Prince of Peace Senior Social Centre Volunteers. - Posted by: Liz Chammartin (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2021
