January 23, 1930 – August 15, 2021

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Elsie passed away at Victoria Hospital at 91 years of age.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rosanna (Ed) and Tania (Tim). She was Nana to Riley and Annie, Danielle and Tyler and great-Nana to Eileen, Josh, Avery, Austin and Ivy, whom she adored. She is survived by her brother Alfred Posaluko.
She is predeceased by her husband John; her granddaughter Kelsey Jones; her sisters, Jean, Vicky and Rosemary and her parents, Michael and Anne Posaluko.
Elsie was born in Beaconia, MB and moved independently to Winnipeg at the age of 16 to complete her high school education. This was the catalyst that sparked her independence and she fully embraced it throughout her life.
She cherished her time with family and friends and always looked forward to the next dress up event.
Her passion for numbers opened career and volunteer opportunities throughout her life. As a working mom, she balanced not only the books, but her family too.
Our thanks to the staff on 5S at Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion during Mom's extended stay. A special thanks to Dr. Kasloff for his patience and care of our Mom.
A celebration of Elsie's life will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue.

"I go from you gently for it is my time
To take the next step
in this journey of mine;
Don't grieve for me long -
I've not left you alone
For I will be with you
in the love that we've known.
That love is forever
and some day when it's time
You'll join me again
on this journey of mine."

  • Elsie and I had a wonderful chat several weeks ago. She will be missed. A grand lady. - Posted by: Katina Posaluko Chapman (Cousin) on: Aug 24, 2021

  • I still remember the times my mother would take me with her on visits to the Moranta home to see her good friend. I know they cared about each other. I enjoyed their home and always felt welcome while enjoying the sights of another home with so many different things in it. Thank you for being a friend to my Mom. - Posted by: Rick Dondo (Friend's son) on: Aug 21, 2021

  • Sincere condolences to Tania, Tim and all the family. It’s always hard to say goodbye to your mom, but happy memories will keep her close always.
