COLLEEN ANN MCDUFF
Colleen is survived by her son Thomas Boles, her best friend Marilyn Doner, and her boyfriend Kevin Lavallee.
Colleen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 2, 1968 to Lily Anne and Colin McDuff, who predeceased her in 1998 and 1973 respectively.
Colleen grew up on Arundel Road in Windsor Park, where she met her best buddy for life Marilyn. She attended school at Frontenac, Provencher, and Windsor Park Collegiate. After graduation from high school in 1986, Colleen obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) degree in 1990, and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1993, both from the University of Manitoba. Even at a young age she was certain that she would become a court room lawyer so that, "Everybody would have to listen to what I have to say". Upon graduation from law school, Colleen articled at the Manitoba Public Prosecutions Branch and upon completion of her articles she became a Crown Attorney. Colleen was always very passionate about her work and as a result became a very skilled and capable prosecutor. She took pride in developing relationships with both her co-workers and defense counsel while showing great empathy for the victims.
In 2000, Colleen's pride and joy Thomas was born. Colleen was a very supportive and loving mother to Thomas and over the years. the two of them enjoyed many fun times together, particularly when on one of their many vacations.
Besides being an extremely proud mother of Thomas, Colleen loved to read biographies and watch horror movies (the lower the budget for the film, the better). When Colleen became interested in something she went all in. Whether the subject matter was work, watching Thomas play soccer, or even a certain Korean boy band, Colleen became very passionate about the matter. When Colleen took on a task, particularly regarding one of her many volunteer activities over the years, she always took great pride in doing an exemplary job. She will be deeply missed by her son Thomas, and her many friends and acquaintances.
A graveside service will be held on August 30, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Green Acres Cemetery, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road. All are welcome to attend.

My dearest Colleen. You were an inspiration to many humans. So gentle and beautiful. You made a difference during your very short time on this earth. I will miss our post court chats and banter. Never have I met someone so sincere, caring and fabulous. - Lori - Posted by: Lori Morawecki (Friend / colleague) on: Aug 29, 2021

It is with great sadness in seeing a childhood friend gone from our lives. I remember playing Barbie's, sleepovers and enjoying star wars with Colleen and Marilyn. My condolences to her son and all who loved her. - Posted by: Lynn Fillion (Melnic) (Childhood friend) on: Aug 29, 2021

Sending thoughts and comfort to Colleen's son and friends/colleagues. I have fond memories of Colleen during her BA studies at the University of Manitoba. I think of her as always smiling and incredibly smart, well-read and articulate. While I've not seen her for 30 years, I've heard good things about her life through our mutual friend Karen (Wnuk) Delaurier. - Posted by: Leah Gowron (University friend from many years ago) on: Aug 29, 2021

Colleen changed my life, I’m at a loss for words. I’ve always wanted to look her up to say hi, saw her in a store a few years ago, wish I had taken that chance. You’ll be missed. Peace. - Posted by: Dominique Jeannin (School friend) on: Aug 28, 2021
