February 23, 1936 – August 22, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Fred Petrishen in the late hours of August 22, 2021.
He is survived by his wife Rose, three children: Dale, Sherry (Charles), and Tammy; along with his grandchildren, Brandyn (Lita), CJ (Casey), Kennedy and Jerrett; and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Alessia.
Fred was a passionate man and proud of his family, career, and Ukrainian heritage. Fred leaves behind a legacy of community; he was always the first to offer a helping hand, welcomed all to his table, and never spoke down upon anyone. Fred had a rock-solid work ethic and attention for detail; he never took a single sick day from work and had famously perfect craftsmanship.
A private family funeral service, by invitation only, will be held on September 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with a lunch reception to follow.
The family would like to thank both the ICU and medicine units at the St. Boniface Hospital for their efforts and support, along with countless family and friends support during this difficult time.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • My deepest sympathy Rose and Family: I will miss Fred's big smile whenever he catered with Phyllis at all the weddings and events where we often played with our band (The Ukrainian Oldtimers). Fred was a man who definitely enjoyed our Ukrainian culture and food. He always danced with a big smile on his face enjoying himself. May God comfort you during this difficult time.
