JUDITH ANN HALL

Judith Ann Hall (nee Patton) passed away peacefully on August 11, 2021.
Born June 26, 1935 to Morris and Olive Patton, she was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth.
Judy attended Balmoral Hall, kindergarten through grade 12, graduating in 1953. She went on to earn a BA at University of Manitoba in 1956. November 3, 1956 Judy married the late Douglas Hall.
Proud to be her children, Judy is survived by sons, Michael (Nicole), Andrew (Cheryl), David (Jenna), John, and favourite daughter Elizabeth (Billy). Judy adored her six grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by James, Michelle, Drew, Luke, Olivia and Liam.
In addition to being the Best Mom Ever, Judy was an excellent friend. She will be missed dearly by the many friendship groups that formed over the years, from Book Group, to Stitchery, the Swans and the Matlock Maidens. Sorry to see the sunset on the stories that ensued from treasured times spent at the lake planting flowers, laughing, cooking, playing rummoli, reciting home scribed poetry, and getting into mischief with kindred spirits.
Judy's easygoing caring manner, incredible sense of humour, quick wit, and positive outlook made people comfortable and offered feelings of security. She had a strong sense of self, which enabled her to give of herself. Beyond a very fulfilling family life, she reached further, through her extensive multifaceted volunteer work, Judy radiated out into the community. Through direct action Judy did what she could to help improve the lives of others.
Judy was a long time active member of the Junior League. Judy offered her time and support to Agape Table. For decades, Judy worked with Hospitality House Refugee Ministry and Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council helping to sponsor and settle refugees into Manitoba. Through these connections Judy was exposed to families coming from impossible situations, people with astonishing stories of incredibly strong will and faith that there is always a way. Judy rose to every occasion and did her best to ensure the way was found for countless families and individuals.
A little later in life, through the Anglican Church, Judy helped to establish and run the Rupertsland Supper Club for Seniors. She created opportunities for older adults to engage in a program that enhanced dignity, independence, and encouraged participation and connection in the community. Judy organized transportation for guests, offered lovely menu choices, made wine, arranged for a wide variety of entertainment, and was there to welcome and host each event.
Judy was a remarkable person.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Marilyn Calaustro for her years of commitment and dedication showing such care and respect for Judy in every way.
Observing capacity restrictions, there will be a service to honour Judy at All Saints Anglican Church on September 13.
