It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife and mother Joanne, on August 26, 2021, at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 67.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Cecilia Wurmlinger; and her sister Louise Harding.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Phil; her daughters, Tiffaney and Melanie (Travis). Her brother-in-law Rick, her mother-in-law Alfreda; her brothers-in-law, Ken (Celeste), Don and sister-in-law Bev. As well as her nephews, nieces, great-nephews, family, friends, pup Brody, cats Tigger and Joey, and horse General.
Joanne was born on March 6, 1954 in Winnipeg, MB. She worked as a dental assistant for many years before following her true calling of becoming a mother. Joanne touched the lives of everyone she met and could always strike up a conversation with anyone. Super Mom as we would call her had the biggest heart always going the extra mile. Mom loved to joke around with her family and lovingly referred to her husband as Dr. Phil. Joanne lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling the globe and spent a lot of her time on the golf course in Palm Desert.
A celebration of her life will be held on September 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue in Winnipeg. A live stream of this event will be available at: should you wish to attend virtually .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne's memory to Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg R3C 0S6.

We love you Mommy,
you will be deeply missed.

  • We are so sad to hear of Joanne’s passing. We will always remember her big smile and cheerfulness. Whenever we met, whether on the street or, more likely, at the deli counter at Sobey’s, a lively conversation always ensued. Stories always included what “Tiff” and “Mel” were doing. Tiffaney and Melanie, your mom was so proud of you and everything you have accomplished. We are keeping all of you in our prayers. • Our family is so saddened by your tragic loss. We send our heartfelt condolences and prayers. Joanne was a kind, warm, caring woman who deeply loved her family. She was so proud of her daughters, Tiffany and Melanie. She lit up when she shared their amazing accomplishments. We also fondly remember Joanne's thoughtfulness for people around her. She always went the extra mile for celebrations like Halloween, providing extra big goodie bags for the neighborhood kids. She made the effort to identify and ask about them. She loved children. • Sincerest condolences on Joanne's untimely passing. As the oldest cousin on the Kubas side of the family, I feel sad when members of the large extended Kubas family pass away. Joanne had a splendid, sparkling personality, and I could always count on seeing her during my visits to Winnipeg. I remember being the altar boy at her mother (my aunt) Cecilia's wedding to my new Uncle Joe Wurmlinger. Joanne's Christmas letters describing the family's experiences were wonderful to read. And, Joanne and Phil always made a point to see me whenever I visited Winnipeg. She leaves a large void in the Kubas - Wurmlinger - Pass families. God Bless Joanne. She's now with her sister Louise in Heaven. I'll join family and friends for Joanne's on-line service. Len Kubas - Posted by: Len Kubas (Joanne's cousin) on: Sep 01, 2021
