MARIA DA CONCEICAO DUARTE
Maria is survived her sons, Mario Jorge (Patrice), Luis (Brenda), Robert (Jenevieve); grandchildren, Jason, Natasha, Scott, and Stefanie; great-grandchildren, Jack, Max, Colin, and Mason; and sister Isabel (Juan) Cunlha. Maria was also survived by Sheila Novak whom Maria helped to care for and became as special to her as another granddaughter, as well as many relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
Maria was predeceased her husband Fernando, and sons, Jose and Elisiario, as well as three sisters and one brother.
Maria was devoted to her family, she loved spending time with her family and her friends. No one would go away hungry from her table and it was not unknown for people to leave with a care package after a great meal. She was firm with her sons and never afraid to help them become the best men they could be. Her dedication to her family is a memory that all of her sons will cherish.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at St. Joseph's and everyone who reached out to her and helped her on her journey.
A visitation will take place Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with prayers held at 7:30 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street, with interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Connie worked for our family for many years. She became a trusted friend and support. Her warmth and kindness and strong work ethic will always be remembered.
