With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Leo in the comfort of his home.

Leo was predeceased by his mother Catherine (1990), father Boris (2004), sister Janine (1975), brother Bob (2016) and best friend Fred Taylor (1991).
Leo retired from The City of Winnipeg in 2008 after 25 years of service. Enjoyed the great outdoors fishing and hunting, snowmobiling, quadding and time at the cabin in Pointe Du Boris. Leo played hockey and softball with the Winnipeg Blues in the 80s with lifelong friends. Leo truly enjoyed and cherished his time with family and friends. He was a work hard, played harder. Leo will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My deepest sympathies and warm thoughts go out to you during this time of sorrow. My memories of Leo are from my youth at family gatherings and visits. May you find lasting comfort in your memories of Leo. - Posted by: Margo Hebert (Cousin) on: Sep 08, 2021

  • Heartfelt condolences in this difficult time. I have happy memories of when Auntie Cathy would come to visit with Janine and Leo. We were just kids enjoying kid stuff together. It wasn't always easy to visit in those days and not everyone had access to a car so they came by bus. And of course there were no cell phones or tablets so we had to occupy our time doing kid stuff like playing outside! I was just six months older than Leo and our families hung around together quite a bit in the early days. I did capture a photo during a later visit, the photo is dated 1970, at the prime of the teenage years. I just found the photo and send a happy wish of peace and comfort to you. - Posted by: Paulette Theberge (Cousin) on: Sep 07, 2021

  • My condolences to Leo’s family. I had not seen Leo since our grandfather’s family. I always wondered how he was doing and did not know to get a hold of him. I hope that his fond memories carry you through this difficult time.. - Posted by: Guy Jeanson (Cousin) on: Sep 04, 2021
