Sunrise February 17, 1944. Sunset August 20, 2021. Peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, Mary passed away at the age of 77 years.
She was predeceased by parents, George and Ivy Lewis, and siblings, Golburne, Frank, Cameron and Shirley.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children, Frances and Patrick, her grandchildren Tai, Soaveryn, Darnell and Luke, and great-grandchildren, Gaiya, Rio and Botta, her siblings, Vashtile, Angela (Alonza Sr.) and George, her nieces and nephews, O'Neal Sr., Jocelyn, Natasha, Maureen, Zepharine, Orion, Ahmad (Mei), Zarifa, Bruce, Miriam, Layla, Nicolas Arianna, Tyson, Andrew Sr. (Marion), Andrew Jr., Shontelle (Lance), Elon Jr., Jasmine, Martin, Natasha, St. Aubyn, Ariel, Alonza (Lisa), Cayleb, Kaiys, Nyah, Anthony, Abrielle, Isaiah, Maddox, O'Neal Jr., Catalina Hazely, Jonathan, Nicolas, William, Israel, Gabriel, Michelle, Giselle, Sarrah, Sandra, Deborah, Kelly, Jomo, and relatives of the Holford, Brathwaite, Durant, Mapp and Best families and her friends.
Formerly of Brittons Hill St. Michael, Barbados, immigrated to England in 1964 and then immigrated to Winnipeg in 1975. Mary worked over 40 years in the health care field. Mary was a woman of great character with a generous, loyal, compassionate heart, and a fun loving spirit which endeared her to all who knew her. Mary will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary's Ave. with the grave site service to follow at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends wishing to attend virtually may do so at:
