REVEREND CANON
KENNETH W. GUNN-WALBERG, PHD.,
Greenville, Delaware

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 2, 1944 in St.
Boniface, Manitoba, son of the late Harry Walberg and Reita Gunn. He is survived by his wife Catherine, daughter Katherine
Lowry, Saskatchewan, and stepdaughter Sue Whiteside, Maryland.
He received his B.A. in History from
United College, University of Manitoba in 1965, an M.A. in History from University
College, University of Manitoba in 1967 and his PhD. in History from the University of Guelph in 1971.
He taught history at several universities in Canada and the U.S. and held executive
positions in Canadian businesses including The Falcon Group and Gold Lake Mines, Inc.
In 1984 he found his true calling, becoming a priest in the Anglican Church. Fr. Ken served as Priest-in-Charge for St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church, Philipsburg, PA; St. Alban's Anglican Church, State
College, PA; Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, Cuba, NY; and St. Mary's Anglican Church, Wilmington, DE (2002-present).
He had a vast interest in politics and
international affairs and was often an invited speaker at foreign policy organizations around the world. He was the Eastern States rep to the International Council of the
Monarchist League. He was a leader in the Afghan and Delaware Citizens Together group which raised money to build a girl's school in Afghanistan and he participated in an initial peace delegation to Baghdad before the second Iraq war.
An Anglican mass to honour him was held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at St. Mary's
Anglican Church in Wilmington, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church, 4201 Washington Street, Wilmington, DE or the American Heart Association.
