Joe is lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Sylvia, his children, Kathy, Maureen (Syl), Norm (Loree-Anne), Colleen, and Lee (former daughter-in-law Teresa), his grandchildren, Dave (Laura), Danny, Bretton (Marianna), Joshua (Brooklyn), Sheena (Cassidy), Jeremy (Sarah), Callie, Adam, Drake, Isaiah and Sammy, and his great-grandchildren, Chase (Danika), Cadia, Jesse, Bryn and Ayla. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.
Joe was predeceased by his first wife Lorraine (1971), his dad Alphonse (2000), his mom Suzanne (2008), his brother Dennis (2014), and his great-grandson Ethan (2004).
Joe's career was an accountant. In his retirement years, Joe and Sylvia enjoyed their time at the cottage and lake, travelling in Canada and overseas, and their cruises. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends but especially loved family gatherings and dinners. Joe generously gave of his time and was always there with a helping hand. His sense of humour and quick wit brought a smile to everyone's face.
A mass will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at St. Emile Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Road followed by the interment at 1:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined but donations may be made to Harvest Manitoba in his memory.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hill Care Home.
A luncheon will be held at a later date.
