If Roses Grow in Heaven
If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms,
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day.
But there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave.
Donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Mom I cannot believe it’s been a year since your passing. We think of you every day. I miss our talks and your compassion. You brightened everyone's day by just being in the same room. Your happiness was infectious to everyone around you. The folks at Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts still reminisce about your daily serenading the facility with your beautiful voice and your expert cribbage play. You are forever in our hearts Love you Mom. - Posted by: George Gebauer (Son) on: Sep 08, 2022

I want to first start by apologizing for my late condolences to the family. As I’ve received some devastating news about myself at the same time of my sisters passing Increasing my difficultly processing everything at this time. My sister has always been my treasured companion throughout my life. I hold so many treasured memories that it’s hard to list just one. We were the closet as we were child number thirteen and fourteen. My sister was kind, generous giving person. I will cherish our most recent trip back to our homestead together and the other memories in my life. I enjoyed our phones calls and our Sunday FaceTime calls with George. I miss her dearly and I know she is with loved ones who passed before her. I love you Marie and we will be joined one day again. Rest In Peace my dearest sister and friend. My condolences to all her family , Love Augustine - Posted by: Augustine Ogden, (Sister) on: Oct 10, 2021

If my mother were alive today, she would want to say good-bye to Marie and to thank her for the years of kind and consistent friendship. As the daughter of Gloria Collins, I feel the desire to thank Marie through her family, for all those years of company which my mother enjoyed due to Marie. The care and thoughtfulness extended to my mom by Marie, continued even after my mother had advanced kidney disease and was on dialysis. Marie called her faithfully and wished her all the best as my mom endured many hospitalizations and medical procedures. Sincere condolences from the Collins family at this time of sadness and please know my mother very much appreciated her friendship with Marie. - Posted by: Laura Collins (friend) on: Oct 04, 2021

Belated condolences to Joanne and the entire Gebauer family. We only learned of Marie’s passing by reading today’s obituary. Joanne was there for us when Fred’s mother passed in 2011, again when Terry’s mother passed in 2013 and then again when Fred’s father passed 2018. Our thoughts are with you, your children and your siblings. - Posted by: Fred and Terry Miller (Friend of Joanna) on: Sep 18, 2021

My deepest sympathies. I had the great pleasure of sharing Monday mornings with Marie for many years. We belonged to the Senior Citizens Choir and Marie always made new members feel welcome. She was always smiling and added so much to our group. I have many fond memories of jokes shared. She loved our performances at care homes and pre covid we could always count on a hug from Marie when we visited her "home" on Ness. - Posted by: Barbara GREEN (friend) on: Sep 15, 2021

My deepest condolences on your loss. Aunt Marie was my Godmother and I remember receiving beautiful little articles of clothing when I was young. That memory means a lot to me to this day. I only met her a few times in my life but she was the sweetest, nicest Aunt! You were lucky to have such a women as your Mom. I can hear all those Menard’s welcoming her home. Every time I go Rockland and pass by where the Menard house was, I think of my Mom and all those Menard’s! Rest In Peace Aunt Marie. - Posted by: Claire Hughes (Neice) on: Sep 11, 2021
