• Our deepest sympathy to Ruby and her family for the loss of her husband. Peter and Ruby were the best neighbour we ever had. They were not only our best neighbour but also great friend who we could always count on for advise and help. Peter was a knowledgeable handyman who taught me a lot and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever asked to do so. • I worked with Peter for 3 years in conjunction with his role on the board of Manitoba Possible. He was a fine, thoughtful man who supported us in every way possible. • Pete and I worked together for 30 years in Manitoba’s Fisheries Branch. Pete was an industrious and reliable worker and always produced excellent results. I took him up to our camp at Child’s Lake where he and I completed the fish survey of Jackfish Lake. We built the ramp up to his front door in the mid-1980s. • Leslie and my condolences to Ruby and family. While it has been several years since we last saw Peter and Ruby, the notice of his passing still brought sad news and prompted past pleasant reflections. I got to know Pete when I started working in the Fisheries Deparment in the late 70's. A lot of good friendships with co-workers and fun conversations were developed from those days; from the coffee breaks at the front foyer of 1495 St. James Street, working with Warren and Pete in the back lab, and the occassional out-of-town staff conferences. We affectionately used to call Pete 'Dad' because at the time Ruby and he seemed to be having kids fairly frequently. Everytime we called him 'Dad' I was sure he displayed a proud smirk. I think it was in the late 1980's that Leslie and I bought our first tent trailer from Pete and Ruby. I still remember how much fun we had going to look at the tent trailer somewhere in the country. Kids and us all piling into Pete's van and going to where it was kept to seal the deal. We were able to enjoy camping and make memories with our kids in the camper as much as they had with theirs. Thanks Pete and Ruby. Thinking of Pete will always bring back those fond memories. • We have known Peter & Ruby for many years & he was just an awsome friendly man. We had many coffee breaks & visits with the family & always had lots of laughs with the kids & Peter & Ruby. We invited him for lots of coffee breaks or should say cake breaks which Peter always appreciated. He was always happy & always smiling so had a great life at the lake. Always happy to see everyone. • Peter was my student at W.C. Miller Collegiate in the late sixties. It is sad when we lose our students, but comforting to know that Peter had achieved a full life with his wife, children and grandchildren. My sincere condolences to his family on their loss of Peter.
