GILLES HEBERT
April 20, 1961 - August 5, 2021
He leaves behind his partner of many years, David, who will miss him terribly and who was there for him through life's trials and tribulations.
He is survived by six siblings, Roger (Lorraine), Annette (Jim), Denise (Myron), Hélène (Martial), Philippe (Richard) and Rhéal.
Gilles is predeceased by both his parents, Marcel and Thérèse; his brother Noël and sister Lise.
He was also predeceased by his dog Apollo, a very special friend he missed terribly. He made up for his loss by spending time playing with other people's dogs spoiling them with treats.
He was treasured by so many people who knew his kind, gentle soul.
He was a pillar of his community. Loved by everyone who knew him, always there with a helping hand and a sympathetic ear for whatever they may need.
He loved volunteering at Britannia Community Centre where he had so many friends.
He had underused talents; good with his hands, he loved sculpting stone and wood and did carpentry work. If something needed fixing, he was your handyman.
Gilles, we now see you somewhere
surrounded by similar souls and free of pain.
A celebration of Gilles' life will be held at Britannia Community Centre in Vancouver, BC.

As a young man growing up with Gil... twas awsome. Gilles and I were friends for many years, we lived together in Winnipeg and went to Pennington together as 2 young punks with an almost free train ride from Winnipeg... We worked at the same Place for at least 3 years... All around great guy & cook! Gonna Miss you Gilles! Till we meet again! take care!
