NICOLLET DAWN BERGREN
(nee HOLUB)

Nicollet Dawn Bergren, 77, of Dublin, CA, passed away September 4, 2021, in Centreville, VA following a recent cancer diagnosis. Nicki was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to parents, Nicholas and Bernice Holub and grew up in St. Vital. While visiting Madrid, Spain, she met a fellow backpacker, Christian Bergren, and they married in Winnipeg in 1968.
While California was Nicki's home for more than 40 years, she was proud of her Canadian roots. She maintained lifelong friends in Canada from school and work and enjoyed their frequent visits in Winnipeg and California and travelling together. Her biggest passion in life was for her grandchildren.
Nicollet is survived by her children, son Eric Bergren (Kathy) of Washington, DC, and daughter Anna Knox (Ian) of Centreville, Virginia, and her grandchildren, Cecilia and Julia Bergren, and Hunter and Avery Knox.
She is also survived by her cousins, Ken Peters of Winnipeg, John Peters (Maureen) of Toronto and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Bernice Holub, husband Christian, granddaughter Eleanor Claire Bergren, and brother in-law John Bergren.
Private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing, New Jersey, alongside Christian and Claire.
Memorial contributions may be made to A Forever Home Rescue Foundation in Chantilly, Virginia at https://www.aforever home.org/ in memory of Nicki and her favourite family dogs Magee and Martin and Bella and Kona who helped care for her this summer in Centreville.
