DARLENE JOY (TERRY) MILLER
(nee CAMPBELL)
July 5, 1941 September 10, 2021
Survived by Tom, her loving husband of 62 years, daughter Tammy (Craig), sons: Tom (Tracey) and Tim (Colleen), grandchildren: Jenny-Lynn (Norm), Ryan (Krystal), Saxon (Mariel), Sienna, great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Sutton, brothers, Jim (Barb), Tom (Missy), sister Maureen (Rick), and many bonus step-grand and great-grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by her mother Evelyn (Mike), father Robert, brother Bob and sister in-law Louise.
Mom always put the needs of others first, supporting Dad in his volunteer and community efforts, raising us kids and being our biggest cheerleaders, all while working at a variety of jobs.
Mom loved to read and enjoyed the company of friends and family; whether it was brunches and fun with Auntie Moe, the love of golf she discovered after her 40th birthday, leading to a membership at Assiniboine Golf Club for over 25 years, bowling and playing canasta with the ladies, going to Zumba, or yelling BINGO, Mom showed love for life in all that she did.
Throughout her illness, Mom had such strength and grace. Never complaining but fighting until the end.
Thanks to Dr. Sidhu at Assiniboine Clinic, Dr. Paul and Rochelle from CancerCare, Dr. Lage, nurses and the health care professionals at the Concordia 3E for the care they gave Mom, to Dallas at Deer Lodge and the MAiD team for their compassion.
A special thank you to Auntie Moe, with your mini spa-days all you did for Mom to give her comfort is beyond words and to Cory Campbell for the moving ceremony in the courtyard as Mom's journey ended.
Finally, thank you Mom!
You were the most caring and supportive person with the greatest empathy for all. Our optimism and kindness were fostered by your unselfish, unconditional, and endless love.
Mom, we will miss you forever but have been blessed by the gift of your light.
Flowers are graciously declined but if you wish, a donation can be made in Mom's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.

The Miller family and us were next door neighbours and best friends for decades. We shared adjoining driveways for about five years. Tammy babysat our young children. Tom coached my fastball team for years. Fran and Terry worked together at St. James arenas and at the Northwest Co.for years. We kind of lost touch with each other when we moved out of town. Luckily we were able to visit with Terry and Tammy this past summer as we saw them sitting in lawnchairs at their apartment block. We were able to enjoy a very heart felt visit. Terry went very fast and we were shocked about her death when we met up at Walmart with Tom. Terry was a very special person in our lives and we would like to offer our condolences to Tom, Tammy Tommy and Tim. - Posted by: Bruce Meyers (Next Door Neighbours and Best Friends) on: Sep 18, 2021
