LUDOVINA DO SERRO
1931 – 2021

It is with profound sadness and abundance of love, that we mourn the passing of our mother, grandma, sister and aunt. Ludovina's beautiful soul was set free on September 11, 2021 at the age of 89, with her daughters by her side. She is reunited with her beloved husband Jose; her parents, Luis and Rita and her friends, where she is rejoicing in being together with all of them.
Mourning her loss are her daughters, Leonilde (Florival) and Ludovina (Victor) and her grandchildren, Claudio (Robyn), Stephanie and Antonio (Shawnè); her sister Leticia (Victor); her nieces, Nidia (Sergio), Fatima (Isidrio), Custodia (Marcel) and Natalina and all their children and her extended family in Canada and Portugal.
Born and raised in Faro, Algarve, Portugal, she realized together with her husband, a great opportunity for their young family and immigrated to Canada. Together with her husband Jose, they became a strong anchor in sponsoring many members of her extended family, like her sister Leticia. She settled in Winnipeg, working very hard at Knit-Rite Mill factory, being a hairdresser and managing rental properties. Ludovina had a very sharp mind, even as her years progressed, always remembering birthdays and special occasions and she loved her family gatherings.
Through good and bad times, Ludovina was surrounded by love and support of her family and friends. She had a passion for life and family, animals, her budgies and her precious dog. Her smile and sense of humour and kindness touched and captured people's hearts. Memories of her caring nature will be treasured forever by those who loved her.
We want to thank the wonderful staff at the Poseidon Personal Care Home, especially Melissa Bradley and Jackson Charron, they are true angels! Our family greatly appreciates the sincere love and care they gave her over the last three years, especially when we couldn't be there with our beloved Mom.
Ludovina you will never be forgotten and we will love you forever, may you rest in peace.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on September 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Chapel Lawn to reserve a seat.
