ALICE AUGUSTE PANCIERA
(nee GOLDAU)
December 13, 1934 - September 17, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that on the morning of Friday, September 17, we had to say goodbye to our beloved mother at the age of 86. We take comfort in knowing that we were one of the coveted families granted a peaceful transition of a loved one passing in slumber.
Alice was born in the West German town of Nordenham. She was one of nine children born to Otto and Emma Goldau. She immigrated to Canada at a young age and began her dream of starting a family to call her very own. She wed Enrico Panciera of Pescara, Italy and together they raised their three children in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her generosity and devotion to her children was boundless.
Alice thrived on having company over (this was in the good ole days when you didn't duck and hide when the doorbell rang). When unexpected company did show up, she was always happy to supply visitors with a pot of coffee and dainties on hand. She loved cooking, bowling, bingo and gambling. She was always ready with her "rucksack" (little change purse) to "play some cards". If you were lucky enough to be loved by Mom, you were loved completely and unconditionally. She gave the BEST hugs.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rob (Deb), Rik (Mandy), and Linda. Her brothers: Otto (Christa), Herbert, Walter (Donna), Dieter (Ranate). Grandchildren: Damian (Tara), Derrick (Katrina) and Michael. Also left to remember her fondly are Adriana (like a daughter), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Waiting for Alice in heaven are her husband Enrico, parents: Otto and Emma, sisters: Irmgard and Kaete, brothers: Ernst and Gerold, and good friend Cristina.
The family would like to thank the staff at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home for many years of bestowing upon our mom the love, dignity and respect she so greatly deserved.
Cremation has taken place and in respect of her wishes, no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to a charity of your choosing.

Mom, you were loved more than you can ever fathom and will be missed more than you will ever know. You have truly earned a place in heaven, rest peacefully there.

  • Rob, Rick, Linda, and the entire family........we are sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Reading her obituary brought back so many memories of younger days together. She truly was an upbeat, "glass half full" type of person. I will always miss the days visiting your family with my Mom. They were typical sisters, and the love they shared was obvious. We had so many family get-togethers with all us cousins, those were good times that we will always remember. Hopefully your Mom and mine are now together again. May she rest in peace.
