HELEN (ALICE) (NANA) LUTZ
1927 - 2021
She was predeceased by her husband Robert; parents, Wasyl and Annie (nee Szmata) Pomeranski; infant brother Maxim, brother Dan, and infant nephew Jimmy as well as daughter-in-law Deanna Pomeranski.
Left to mourn her loss are her daughter Carol Anderson, son Bill and Diane (Komm) Lutz; grandchildren, Bob and Sara Anderson, Sabrina and Adam Ariss; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Grace Ariss, and Erik Anderson; brother Sam Pomeranski, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was born in Fraserwood and moved with her parents to Gimli, Manitoba. She worked at Gimli Johnson Memorial Hospital for two years and then in a grocery store in Winnipeg. She met her future husband at a dance in Winnipeg.
Nana was so wonderful at various crafts such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, canning vegetables and fruits, making jars of jams and jellies, cooking Ukrainian feasts, and making "Nana" bread (banana bread). Nana and Papa had huge vegetable and flower gardens in their home in Winnipeg and at their cabin at Winnipeg Beach.
We want to thank cousin Olga and brother Sam, and nieces, Emily, Marge, and Traci, Frances Bryga for always keeping in touch, giving her family news over visits and friends Shirley Pogson.
Thank you to care givers and Doctor Davis as well as Reverend Dwight Rutherford.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held to celebrate the life of Helen Lutz.

We are so saddened to hear of Mrs. Lutz passing She was a beautiful genuine lady who was one of the friendliest ladies I've known. We looked forward to the calls around Christmas or just sporadic. Her and Robert had one of the nicest homes in Brooklands growing up with the best garden around. They were the greatest neighbours. We were actually planning a visit later this month to surprise her. I/ we are so lucky to have known her and Robert. May you rest in peace Mrs. Lutz Your have earned your wings Condolences to Carol and all the family Gary and Shirley Van Den Bossche - Posted by: Gary Van Den Bossche (friend and former neighbour) on: Sep 22, 2021
