JONATHAN THOMAS MCDOUGALL
October 23, 1965 - September 16, 2021
His greatest joy was found in time spent with his family, fishing, renovating and relaxing at his piece of paradise in Great Falls, MB.
Jon was born and raised in Winnipeg, mainly in the St. James area and had many lifelong friends who will miss him dearly. He spent 25 years with Russelmetals before retiring in 2019.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Gail; sons, Darrell (Rebekah) and Duane (Nichole); grandson Braidon (Juliette), and great-grandson Leo, his father Jack; siblings, Susan (Darrell), and Joe (Tannis); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his beloved Riggs, his mother Glenna; siblings, Dawn and Cam; and Nana and Buppa Ward.
Thank you to Dr. Bruneau and staff at Pinawa Cancer Care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Club 3D on Saturday, September 25 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. COVID protocols in place.
The day God took you Home
A million times I've needed you
A million times I've cried,
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly;
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a space,
Where no one can ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
Part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
@You are very special

Fair winds and calm sea's my friend. Until we meet again..... - Posted by: Anthony McCullough (friend ) on: Sep 25, 2021
Jon....What a character.! He may have been small in stature, but had the biggest heart in the world. When you think of Jon, having a good time comes to mind. In his younger days, parties were his playground. Pleasantly wasted would be his end result. He definitely knew how to enjoy life! A life that was cut short way too soon. Our thoughts and sympathies are with the McDougall family. - Posted by: David and Carla Yanchishyn (friends) on: Sep 25, 2021

Our family remembers Jon and family starting from back as a child, as our yards were back to back for many years growing up. I always called the MCDOUGALL's our "back yard neighbors" to this day, and Jon was a friend to us and to many in the area. Our family sends are deepest consequences and sympathy to all the family and friends Jon touched throughout his years. He was a gentleman and a kind hearted man. He will truly be missed and remembered fondly - Posted by: Joanne Bales (Friend and neighbor ) on: Sep 24, 2021

It is wonderful to know that Jon had so much happiness with his family and love surrounding him, I am truly sorry for this tremendous loss. He certainly did light up a room with his smile and laugh. It has been many years since I last saw him, but I only have to open up a photo album or watch past videos to be reminded just how fun and memorable he was. I am so glad to have called you a friend and will hold on to these memories for the rest of my life. You were a gentle, sweet soul and will be greatly missed. Love and condolences, Kim - Posted by: Kim MacKay (Friend) on: Sep 22, 2021
Jon was a great guy. I met him well in the heyday of the late 80’s, probably at a bush party. We were a very large group of friends that hung out together a lot. I got to know Jon even more when we lived on the same street just across from each other in the West End of the city. As time went on we both went are separate ways, like most of us do. Started careers, families, etc. As Facebook came on the scene we were able to reconnect. I’ll miss ya Johnny boy! See in the next life. - Posted by: Ralph Sommerfeld (Friend) on: Sep 22, 2021
