ERLING RANDALL MEAD
1942 - 2021

Erling Mead passed away on September 13, 2021, at his home in Winnipeg.
He was born on November 10, 1942 in Saskatoon, SK. He spent all of his early life living with his parents and three brothers in the Temperance Street family home. He attended Victoria Public School and Saskatoon Technical Collegiate Institute.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Howard Mead and Norma Mead, and by two brothers, Robin Spencer Mead and Gerald Robert Mead. He is survived by two brothers, Glen Howard Mead and Eric Lende Mead, as well as a niece, Cary Denby of Winnipeg, and nephews, Jon Mead, Chris Mead, and Andrew Mead, all of Winnipeg, and Dale Mead of Thunder Bay, ON, Warren Mead of Calgary, AB, Robin Mead, Calgary, AB, and Cameron Mead, Calgary, AB.
Erling was well liked by everyone who knew him, often described as a gentle and loving man with a real skill for writing beautiful and thoughtful cards. Erling worked in several areas throughout his life with the longest service in Canadian Public service at the Canadian Air Force Base Winnipeg. Some of his greatest pleasures in life were watching classic movies and listening to classical music. He had a long history of working with brother Gerald to build an impressive audio-visual system and build a significant library of music and movies. He loved dogs and spent a lot of time with Dixie and Rex over the years in Saskatoon. After moving to Winnipeg in the early 1980s, he loved to travel and took several long motor trips through Western Canada, Montana and South Dakota. He also travelled to Calgary, AB, and Comox, BC to spend time with his younger brother Eric and wife Lorna.
Erling was a unique person who will be remembered by his brothers, niece and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. We will all miss him. He always found ways of giving back to his family.
Cremation has taken place. Private burial in Saskatoon.
