DIANNE MILTON

With great sadness we announce the passing of Dianne Milton on September 12, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Dianne was a loving mother, grandmother, girlfriend, sister and friend. She is survived by her sons, Taylor and Travis (Melanie); boyfriend and life-partner Gerry; grandsons, Parker and Nico; brothers, Ed (Libby), Ken (Jeanine), Marvin (Marg); and friends, Trish, Kelly, Becca (Brian) and numerous others who were blessed by having known her. She was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Anne, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She loved to travel, her and Gerry went all over Canada, visited Morocco, the United Kingdom, Italy and China to name just a few places. Her favourite destination, however, was close to home - Churchill, MB. Polar Bear expeditions, Whale watching boat trips and admiring the Northern Lights on cold winter nights is where she was happiest.
She loved being with her grandsons, Parker and Nico, as much as possible. Watching them play hockey, she would often attend practices and games and cheer them on with everything she had. Lego, art projects, trips to the zoo, their own Xmas tree at her house with a collection of ornaments for each. But most importantly, she regularly took them to the MB Symphony which has sparked a passion for music in both the boys.
Music was also a huge part of her life. She became proficient at piano at a young age and carried that love with her for many years, passing it on to her students. She loved listening to all types of music, from classical to rock, anything that inspired feeling or emotion got a nod from her. Neil Young, the Beatles, Mozart (and many other composers) were among her favourites.
Her professional life began at the Manitoba Trucking Association where she developed an interest in vehicle safety, later becoming a Rail Safety Officer for the province of Manitoba where she happily worked until retirement.
Smart, sharp, quick-witted and funny, Dianne had an infectious, boisterous laugh that friends and family will miss dearly.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to Travis, Mel, Parker and Nico, and all of Dianne’s loved ones. Dianne was such a special person who had a significant impact on our lives. She taught me how to play the piano, and has given a lifelong gift with her passion for expression. She was patient, funny, and cared so genuinely. Her smile and infectious laughter will be forever remembered. - Posted by: Jane Snow (Family friend) on: May 30, 2022
