SHELAGH ANNE TWOMEY
June 23, 1932 September 17, 2021
Shelagh is predeceased by her parents, Olga Elizabeth and Jeremiah Twomey; her siblings, Jerry, Bub, Elizabeth, Alan, Paddy, Kevin, Paul and Margaret. She leaves to cherish her memory numerous Twomey and Kelly nieces and nephews who loved her.
Shelagh was born in Winnipeg and attended St. Ignatius School and St. Mary's Academy. She devoted much of her adult life caring for her parents. Her working career in the nursery at SBH, caring for new borns and moms, spanned 20 years and brought her great joy. Shelagh was devoted member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She spent time volunteering at Agape Table later in life.
Shelagh spent many happy years living at Villa Cabrini where she made many new friends. Her dearest friend was, Irene Landreville and they enjoyed extensive travel together. We are grateful for Irene's constant presence in Shelagh's life.
Auntie Shelagh was a gentle and caring person with a warm smile for everyone. She lived simply and gratefully! Shelagh faced life as it came often expressing her ready sense of humour. Shelagh prayed the Rosary daily for the intentions of family members and friends, and loved her God deeply.
Shelagh you have been a treasure, and we will miss you greatly, but we know your prayers will accompany us until we meet again at the heavenly banquet.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the many nurses and health care providers at the Middle Church Home of Winnipeg, for their gracious personal care shown to Shelagh. Deepest thanks to Ken Twomey for always being there with care and compassion over the years.
Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Rev. Father Gerry Ward Presiding.
